Inpired by the Nizams – ITC Kohenur

ITC Kohenur is Hyderabad’s new gem and the hotel is all about giving you rare and priceless experiences.

 

Named after the extremely rare and priced Kohinoor diamond(Kohenur in Persian) or the mountain of light, our stay at this newly opened hotel was nothing short of exquisite. Every nook and corner of the hotel has a story to tell about the history and traditions of the land of the Nizams.

A weeks after the shimmering hotel was opened to the public, a bunch of us bloggers from Bangalore were flown in for a weekend that was abound in rare and priceless experiences.

 

The hotel is on the verge of completion, some facilities and services are still in its final stages of completion.

Located in the heart of the business district in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area and overlooking the picturesque Durgam Cheruvu Lake, the hotel with its grandeur and beauty, is a sight in itself.

We were told that from the top, the angular structure and design is inspired by the famed jewel – the Kohinoor.

 

The hotel boasts of plush meeting rooms, luxurious wellness rooms, serviced apartments, a beautiful infinity pool, a range of F&B offerings and ITC’s signature Kaya Kalp Spa.

Diamonds greet the eye everywhere on this property, from diamond motif chandeliers, paintings of the kohinoor, facets etched with diamonds and carpets with diamond motifs. You won’t really miss the theme that revolves around these precious stones as you head towards your room .

Every room gives you a subtle reminder of the rare and priceless offerings at the hotel. The design element is so unique that you’ll be able to spot diamond motifs on the carpets, doors and even the cushions.

As you enter, you’ll be greeted by the staff with a Namaste, that is typical at most ITC hotels. What meets the eye as you enter is the mammoth diamond shaped chandelier and the lobby, adorned with glass and lacquer bangles, keeping with the traditions of the city and paying homage to the old city’s Laad Bazaar.

The hotel also makes use of the local bidri metal handicrafts and zardori embroidery to enhance the traditional connect and local aspect associated with the ITC Kohenur.

Wellness Aspect

The well being of their guests is of utmost importance at all ITC hotels. The Kohenur is no different, with features that ensure you’re healthy, happy and well rested during your stay at the hotel. Some of the innovative wellness features offered include,

  • A special sleep menu and pillow menu crafted after intense research into different aspects of sleep technology at their specialized Sleep Labs. The wellness rooms are also equipped with sleep masks and aromatherapy oils.
  • Radiation neutral rooms, all electronics devices are equipped with special radiation reduction chips.
  • Showers infused with vitamins that leave your skin feeling soft and your hair feeling great.
  • A ‘Swasthya’ menu that is ‘Caringly Selected and Mindfully Prepared’ that focuses on the holistic health of their guests, with the inclusion of fresh fruits and juices.

Responsible Luxury

The hotel is all about giving back to the environment and there is special care taken to ensure that they are doing their bit to keep up with the tag of being a hotel that embodies the ITC’s ethos of Responsible Luxury. The hotel is equipped with special water recycling plants to ensure that used water is put to better use. There are also vertical gardens around the property to check the purity of air.

ITC Kohenur utilizes LED lighting and has a solar strategy integrated into it’s design ensuring that you will not require to turn on the lights until late evening.

Rooms

ITC Kohenur comprises of 271 rooms, suits out of which 27 are serviced apartments.The hotel has nine meeting, banquet and conference spaces, it includes the Deccan State Room, The Pearl Deck and Golconda Greens.

There is a signature members only – ITC Club Prive that includes two boardrooms, private dining spaces and a cigar lounge. All the rooms are naturally lit with a beautiful view of the Durgam Cheruvu lake.

The ITC Kohenur also has a special floor just for their lady guests called Eva giving the ladies the luxury to pamper themselves in a very secure floor.

Each of the rooms are equipped with state of the art technology and room automation app in terms of lighting, temperature, TV channels and other services. They also have a laundry service that can be operated at the convenience of the room, without any interaction with the staff.

 

The Suites are designed to feature the Jewels of the Nizams and each of the rooms have their unique colour tone.

 

Dining

ITC Kohenur is home to some of the signature offerings like Dum Pukth’s Begum, the chocolate boutique – Fabelle, a new Chinese restaurant- Yi Jing, it’s Italian brand – Ottimo, The Peacock Bar and the Goldconda Pavillion.

 

The ITC Kohenur is a true amalgamation of history, tradition and technology with a special focus on responsible luxury.
